Been very very very busy this last week, sorting out stuff for University enrolment, as well as running a stall at the Freshers Fair for my Anime + Gaming society, not to mention the organising I’ve got to do for the rest of the term. Realised I hadn’t blogged in a while when i saw two Twitter digests one after another. Not good…
It’s been busy but fun though, the Fair went really well and we had a whole load of new sign-ups for those interested, be neat to see some new faces around this year. Didn’t get too many last time. For that I completely designed and built a new website for the society, as well as a blog and forums for the users. Currently just using pretty much the same theme as this site for the blog, and a free one for the Forum, but I will get around to completely re-styling them when I have the time. Front page looks good though, lots of nice jquery effects to draw the eye in, while remaining pretty browser friendly and backwards compatible. Still needs a tiny bit of work on the HTML to make it fully w3-compliant. The Parallax stuff I put in is pretty fun to play with as well.

Credit to Hung for the HORRIBLE HORRIBLE photo of me, thanks for that. Enrolled for my Uni today, or rather attempted to but the Student Loans Company has yet to send me a letter with the details and as such I have to go up there again some time next week. Stupid government.
Was great to see my mates again after 4 months though, with them being off all over their respective counties and countries. Grabbed some lunch with them, and generally ranted about our 2-day a week Uni timetable and the price of London housing. All good fun.
In other news, I was seriously impressed by the new Canon 5D Mark II’s new video mode that Vincent Laforet was able to work with. I’d love to see the quality of a full 1080p video at some point down the line, as well as seeing what the new 50D will be able to do if it has that functionality as well. Even if it’s just 720p it’ll be damn impressive stuff, as you will be able to use any Canon-fit lens like Macros or Fish Eyes. Hit up this link to check out what is possible with what would cost many times as much with standard professional video equipment. One of my must-buys when it comes out…and I have the money.
In other news, also check out the Claremont Long boarding video, it’s utterly cool. Seriously a must-watch, I’ve embedded it after the jump but I’d recommend visiting the page itself as you get it in full quality.
